Snorkel - Extra wind noise ???

Only a few days to go now (I hope !!). The dealer was expecting my TDV6 HSE to be delivered today, so Im hoping to get a call this week.

I was going to have a few extras fitted included a snorkel. Has anyone hadthe LR snoprkel fitted and experienced any extra wind noise or drop in fuel consumption.

Thanks

Not noticed any extra wind noise - although the expo roof rack may be masking it..... same goes for fuel consumption
What I have noticed is that you can hear the air being sucked in with the window open.
also bear in mind, as posted elswhere on here, that it is a 'raised air intake' not a true snorkel. I'm sure that in the vast majority of situations it'll be fine but I wouldn't want to be stationary in water for long with the level of the normal air intake below the water line... Wink

As Gareth says the raised intake has some audible sucking noise when the window is down.

I don't have a roof rack on and there is no increased noise with the intake fitted.

Thanks,

I dont expect to sit in water too long. Although that was one of the reasons for getting the TDV6 rather than the V8. My V8 Defender is great everywhere except deep water. Its a case of, keep the foot down and if it stalls...., climb out the sun roof, sit on the roof and wait for a winch !!!

I haven't noticed any wind noise. It seems to be a good setup!
