When you need them they truely are worth their weight in gold.
We've had them for several years now, they do wear out and can get snagged by stuff but we're careful not to use them when there's hardly any ice. We first clocked them when there was a news report on the Beeb re a really harsh Moscow winter. The reported asked an old dear how could walk on the snow and ice, she just lifted her foot showing the cross springs. If it's good enough for her it's good enough for us, thought I.

Went to Dartmoor for the Christmas break promised loads of snow over night yesterday on Haytor
sadly not much not even worth a photo ,so plan B off to Snowdonia first thing in the morning to do some of the route that DG did in the autumn and may find some of the white stuff not too much thoughLand Rover 90 - deceased

Brilliant, I used GGS + Low Traction Launch feature, never broke traction but to be fair never had problems with the 4, though the low traction launch just adds that bit extra sure footedness when pulling away.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Bit of a snow storm at present
looks like I'll be overnighting in Cumbernauld as the Rest & Be Thankful has a dusting as can be seen on the Traffic Cameras

amazing place rest and be thankfull...cant imagine driving that in the snow...did you go over in the snow....appreciate your roads are limited where you are
