Software upgrades - options?
So I've read a lot on here about various upgrades to the D3 software.
There seems to be quite a few variations in what is possible.
I'd like more responsive throttle when moving away from stationary. Better fuel economy is always good.
I'd also really like to have a digital speed read out on the dash between the dials as I'm tall so can't see the top half of the speedo
Is there a single upgrade to enable/ unlock all of these things? Or various stages of upgrades?
I'm presuming that a site sponsor with be able to do these things for me.
What other useful options are possible to unlock?
Thanks

Hi Ben,
Have you considered a "Heads Up Display" (hud) which projects vehicle information onto the windscreen wherever you want.
I have a GPS hud (which I have yet to fit), which determines your speed from the GPS unit, as well as distance travelled, rpm, time etc. I found this to be particularly useful as I have non-standard tyres and so the speed indicated on the dash is in error.
Worth Considering,
Peter
Correction: It doesn't show rpm, but rather speed in your chosen units both digitally and analogue. The Bearded Dragon

Hi Ben,
As a follow up, there is another hud that hooks into the OBD II plug. This would be better for those with standard sized tyres or who are less interested in speed.
This displays live information from your engine, including speed, revs, fuel consumption, coolant temp, engine faults and more.

Hi for better performance you need a remap. Loads of info on here about that and a good few site sponsors that do it. . As a short term trial you could put the Discovery into sand mode and see is that a help.
Digital speedometer on the dash? I've never heard of any software update that can get that for you, I'd be interested in that myself, but I don't think that's an option on a D3 unless you fit some form of after market device as suggested above. Does moving the steering wheel height and reach help any bit? Or drop the seat down to its lowest point.

Thanks so much for all the replies and links - plenty for me to work through.
Presumably there must be plenty of off the shelf remap options for these cars? Although theelectronics side of things are a bit unknown to me at this stage.

Hi Ben,
One of the well-accepted remaps on here is by Bell Auto Services (BAS). I have one installed on mine in Australia so the means are there. When I installed mine, BAS sent me an installment device, then emailed me the remap. Now, if you have an IID tool, there is no need for the separate installer.
Best Wishes,
