Sold my Discovery so its au revoir.

I have now sold my D3 HSE back to the supplying dealers after 2 years and 8 days. With just over 17,000 miles completed and two services. It's never missed a beat, never gone wrong and went back as good as the day I drove it out.

A really big thank you to James and Spencer at Lookers in Park Royal, they really have been superb throughout and gave me a fantastic price that others couldn't match.

Alas whilst it is the most complete all round vehicle you can buy, a RFL at £435 and a 450 mile range when a tank of diesel is now pushing £130 makes it a no brainer.

A new fully loaded BMW 320D Tourer is now on order and the change hasn't cost a penny.

I wish everyone on here the best for an uncertain future, it's been a real pleasure and without the forum I would never have bought the car in the first place.

I sympathise, also just sold my beloved D3 for a fully loaded Passat estate, £30 road tax 65mpg, not as many smiles but we still have our Freelander and less money for Mr Shell or Mr Taxman always makes sense. Its a sad day when the economy governs what you drive but what can we do. Will still look at the forum and be envious of you all. Cheers

Ah... I see you've gone for the same Disco to 3 series route as I did.

You'll definitely miss the Disco! Big Cry

I already am and more so now I have other peoples Discovery's on my drive whilst we swap bits over, all going to good homes though.

But then in 6 weeks there will be another toy to play with and I'm secretly looking forward to not having to clean the roof with a step ladder!

I've come 5 series to Disco 3 and you won't be disappointed with the BMW. Great cars to drive, although you just need to plan your journey a bit more!

More like I can drive to the mountain in one go without having to fill up! I know the Disco is a remarkable car but it hurts when you fill up and other motorists come over to see how much it costs to fill it! Crying or Very sad
