Well after a long few Months I have completed the total strip down and rebuild of my 200DI engine.
Blocked off turbo and oil cooler pipes (Spring etc removed from oil filter housing) as was going to fit into my series 3 but have now sold that vehicle.
Victor reinz gaskets used throughout, no expense spared.
New shells/bearing/rings/skimmed etc it really has been a great project.
I fitted it with the discovery exhaust manifold but have a NA manifold ready to go with it too now.
Doesn't seem to be the market I thought there would be to sell it though
New fuel/water pumps, new starter motor.
I either need to find a project 90 now or sell it privately.
Complete rebuild with measurements taken and final runnin vid here:
Cost over £1400 to rebuild (have all the receipts)
Will accept £900 no warranty as I'm moving in January and don't have room to store.
Best Regards
Joe

You can get rebuilt motors on ebay for roughly 1k, but thats just the engine with no fuel equipment etc, so silly as it sounds it may be easier to sell in parts!
I have noticed over the last few years that 200tdi motors are starting to get a bit thin on the ground.
I broke a defender 200 tdi engine and reckon I got close to 700 for all the parts, several of which were well worn out, this was noted in the adverts but def 200tdi lumps are rare so the parts are desirable.

Fixed the link...
I guess I'm sentimental towards it for all the hours I put into it doing the rebuild
If nobody comes along I'll just keep firing it over once a week until someone wants it in 20 years time for a museum Best Regards

Have a look and see just how few discovery 200tdi there are left.
They have all rusted away
