SOLVED Fault with Suspension on start up - C1A09
So been looking for ages now but not seen something similar.....
I had a new AMK compressor in 2011 ( I did alot of miles).
Found that this cut out and therw up a fault early this year....... replaced this one with a new AMK compressor courtesy of Geoff and had 2 months happy driving.
Now............ 'normal height only' but straight from outset on system check at start up.... so the compressor does not run. Checked all fuses including the fused link (60A) and they are all in tact!
I will try and get the codes read but any ideas as this comes on even with engine off before starting?

So if you ever get the problem that even with ignition 'on' and you get suspension fault - normal height only just go and check the below.
I went through everything and checked compressor/ leaks etc (I have a new AMK compressor-2nd one) and because of the light on at start up and the compressor did not run it had to be an electrical fault.
So I did all the checks and run a 12V supply direct to the compressor and this worked well. Got the codes read and found C1A09 - pressure sensor signal
Pressure sensor signal voltage out of range
Pressure sensor disconnected
Pressure sensor harness wiring short circuit to ground, short circuit to power or high resistance
Pressure sensor failure
Air suspension control module failure
After a cursory look at the three multi plugs in NSF wheel arch everything looked fine. This was niggling me for ages.....
SOLVED - yes it was those wires in the NSF wheel arch. To be precise the feed to the pressure sensor the yellow and black wire had a tiny hole in it and after a little movement it broke off like this.
As it was broken off too close the the multi plug I just bridged the plug with an extra wire.
All sealed and working fine all due to one little piece of copper wire......
A big thank you to Robbie and Geoff.

Had exactly the same fault, in exactly the same location, but mine was intermittent when driving and when stationary My D3 Build Thread

Well done Carey!
Looking at a bigger version of your photo I am wondering if some of those dots are from wire-piercing probes. If so they will need protecting with liquid tape or similar before more corrosion sets in.

I'm having a similar issue on my 2006 LR3. Would this also apply to my rig? I've traced the wiring bundle from the pressure sensor and it appears to pop up just in front of the driver side foot rest and go to the Control Suspension Module.

Hi Norlandia, yes. The wiring for the system is the same for LR3 and D3.2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

Problem solved. Same issue with the yellow and black wire but a little different location where the wire comes out of the flexible conduit. So nice to have my suspension back to normal!
Thank you!
