Has someone put a sign on my car
I have been to a training course today so had to travel 40 miles to get there - on the way there a guy in a van eating a bacon sandwich pulled across in front of me on the Hinckley M69 island (he was in the wrong lane) without looking and I managed to pull over out of his way.
On the way home a guy (in a discovery 3 54 plate i might add) was in the left lane at another traffic island behind a white van. As the van and I moved off he raced right up behind the van and swung straight in front of me. I wouldnt mind but I had my toe down myself to make sure the van didnt cut me up and if I hadnt hit the anchors would have trashed his disco and mine.
Has someone got it in for my car - only had it two weeks - or are the more and more F**kwits on the road these days!2006 SE - Java Black - Auto

People know when you have a new car. (Some sort of 10th sense of something.) They just know, and will cut you up. When I got mine a few weeks ago, same thing. Every f'tard on the road was cutting me up.

try doing 300+ miles a day with a tri-axle car trailer and d3, then you can grumble about other road users cutting yer up

You just can't win these days.
Some other drivers think 'lumbering great 4WD, I'll just cut in front before the next lights so that it doesn't make me (mili) seconds late'. Also there are more aggressive drivers that can't afford the sheer luxury of a Disco 3/4 so they try a bit of oneupmanship with their pathetic driving style.
The psychology of driving has changed over the years (I should know, I have more than 45 years of experience) but all it means is we should wear our PermaGrin and be more defensive in our driving. But I see you're already onto it pjbnet!

As for the other D3 driver, I imagine you would have hoped he had the sense that you displayed but it clearly wasn't the case.LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Try towing a caravan as well... every one coming out of a side road thinks "b y h ll, I must pull out in front so I dont get caught up in the queue behind"
And then there's the problem of having to brake to avoid them...

Now I know what I really want for Christmas!
Those horns are awesome though possibly not entirely road legal.
At last a horn that's louder than the engine in my Offender. 2015 Discovery 4 HSE Corris with Blackpack

I fitted a 26" horn under my defender & had a 50 litre tank in the back set at 180psi.
Half inch internal dia pipework used for maximum flow & 24 volts required to operate the solenoid valve.
The first few hoots were extremely amusing/painful, but after 2 weeks I removed it.
Pedestrians would literally leap into the air if they were near.
Motorists that deserved a toot had to dash home for some clean pants & buy an air freshener.
It wouldn't be long before either;
A. Someone had a heart attack.
B. I got in a spot of bother.
C. Both.
I found that the best way to stop the numbnuts cutting me up in the defender was to keep it dirty with mud & grass/trees hanging off.
However, the Disco3 seems to be a target for white vans.
