Sounds like a Spring moving with a clunk....

OK, I've covered just over 2100 miles now and since new, I've had what can only be described as a bdoing....! when going full lock.

I know the car has air suspension, but when going from one lock to the other lock, it sounds as though it has coil springs which are just springing into place at the final turn.

Bizarre description I know, but anyone else heard of this or have any idea of what it could be?????

cheers

Hi Bodsy,

Yep, mine does exactly the same, sometimes....

When on full lock in either forward or reverse, sometimes but not always there's this loud 'twang' like a coil spring. Kind of makes you jump doesn't it??

Obviously comes from the front but I'm not sure from side is guilty.

Mine's the same model and age as yours so I'll be interested where this one goes Confused

Well I'm Amsterdam all this week til next Tuesday, so won't be able to do anything with it until the following weekend. If you get a chance to put a dollop of grease on before I get back, let me know. Thumbs Up

The twang you hear, is the brake back plate resonating with the grinding on the lock stop.

I think I also read/heard that some lock stops have welding spatter on them, and it need to be filed or ground off?
