SpeedHawk tuning box

Has anyone fitted this? Or know anything more about it than this:

Quote:
Power
Up to 35% more efficient driving providing up to 35% increased BHP.

Torque
Transform the performance of the engine with up to 35% more torque, no more struggling to get up hills and pull heavy loads.

Top Speed
Dispite our Speedhawk tuning boxes not being designed for this, a small increase in top speed can be obtained in many cases

Fuel Economy
Moving the power to the lower rev ranges can produce up to 10-20% improved fuel economy meaning you also achieve up to 20% reduction of CO2 emissions.

Basically it takes the BHP to 226, the torque to 510, claims a 6mph top speed improvement and 20% fuel economy!!! Most importantly it's "only" £325...

I have a couple of links if anyone is interested but it seems to be a D3 generic (as opposed to per vehicle remap) remap box you can plug and use at will (even has a remote keyfob Shocked )

So is it a proper ECU remap or a plug in box that just increases the fueling, its important that we start any tuning argument off on the right footing Wink Whistle

I had a Vector box fitted to my Mitsubishi Colt DI-D and on the rolling road it decreased power

Don't really want to start an argument around this... Shocked Just stumbled on it while looking for something else for the Disco... Whistle

Quoting their site:
Quote:
How does the Speedhawk-Tuningboxes function?
This Electronics is used with vehicles, which are equipped with conventional electronic injection pumps of the manufacturers Bosch or Lucas. Here an increase in output takes place via a change of the injection pump signals from the controller to the injection pump. Thus an increase in output of up to 40 HP is made possible in the single case

So I guess it's not a remap after all... Embarassed

They are pants...They just make you car knock more

Some days it would start but you had to start it 3 or 4 times to get anything from the gas pedal

Waste of time and only worthy of a refund Laughing

The re-mapping guys look into it more and really know what they are doing and can get definate figures from your car and not fairy land figures

Thanks matt.

On reading further, it seems most opinions are in line with what you say: not worth it!

Oh well, just need to save up for the BAS remap I guess Smile
