How is it possible to wear whole lining if hand break is used when allready in park? Modern day mystery? Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

I rarely use the handbrake , so I'm guessing I didn't adjust it properly when I changed the disc and pads 6 months ago
Just noticed a squeaking yesterday so though I best check
I will see what the RHS is like tomorrow when parts arriveDuncan

And 6 months ago they looked OK?
After changing all breaks components incl EPB shoes Im using hand break quite frequently and its a comforting thing to know they work without disturbing sounds coming out from the back each time I pull the EPB.
Time to change them...Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

Worst thing you can do is not use it, and for the shoes to be like that is bad adjustment, it will be with not using it the fulcrum lever has seized up on the shoe causing them to stick on.
New shoes and a good clean and adjust and you should be fine.

well all sorted.
AF delivered the parts by DPD the next morning
was aright pain getting the disc on the LHS shoes. The RHS shoes were ok, but changed them anyway.
setup, adjusted and bedded in. all seems ok on the journey from salcombe back to Bristol and holds perfectly on hills.
I have hardely ever used the EPB in 10 years of ownership and 500,000 miles. never had a problem until now , but then I used to service them regularly when doing more off road driving. The shoes were all fully moving, no seizure - just missing the lining.
only downside is a big hole in the top of my head where I banged it on the bottom of the disc Duncan
