I often find that tyre squeal gets worse the longer we go without rain, not really had much for a while now, and the roads are totally bone dry and full of rubber, need a good hard downpour to get rid of all the muck on the roads, the problem usually disappears then I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

As SJR, I've found that the drier it is, the more squeal, and in a multi-storey, the middle floors rarely get wet. If you're going to be properly sad, then you should sit and wait for 10 permanent four wheel drive vehicles to pass; I'm sure the 4 driven wheels changes the dynamic and IMHO squeals more. I also agree with the earlier comments that the sound gets more pronounced as the tyres wear as even in a dry concrete car park I get zero squeal on nearly new rubber.
It's normal as far as I know; just think of it as a warning to the pedestrians that a 3 tonne vehicle is on the move; they'll get more warning than from a hybrid Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

My Scorpion Zeros squeeled really badly on any corners over the last couple of weeks. they were down to 2mm and quite frankly I could live with the noise, but the handling was terrible !!
Now on New Scorpion ATR's - very pleased so far "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
