I tried to get mine replaced recently. 57 XS with about 25K on the clock.
Steering wheel has gone smoth and it was bobbling. ie little bits were rolling off and landing on the centre boss of the wheel.
Took it to a local dealer and they said no because I had used suncream and that was affecting the wheel. As I don't use suncream I was a little miffed. I called the DP and had a discussion with him. His response was No replacement. So I informed him I would call LRCC to see if that would chnge his mind. Still No. So a quick call to LRCC and after a week of internal investigation they came back and said No as well.
I must point out that all conversations were polite and well mannered.
The same dealership also informed me that my coolant leak was due to the fact that I have my lights recessed into the front grill. When asked to explain their theory they brushed me off.
As I'm moving to Bristol in the very near future I'll be looking at changing dealerships for my work.
So it seems LR are happy that the wheel is falling apart and going bald/smooth with 2 1/2 yrs old and less than 25K on the clock. To say I'm very dissapointed with the dealership is an understatement!!!!HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE
They shall not grow old as those of us left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condem. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
