Stick to service intervals or do annually regardless?

Hello

I became the proud owner of a 2015 disco 4 hse last April. 80,000 miles. Car was mot’d and serviced early April.

I have now done 90,000 miles and am booking in for mot. Should I get an oil change service as well or wait another 6 months until it’s done 12,000 miles since it’s last service?

Also, any recommendations for an independent near Warrington / Altrincham ?

Thanks in advance!
Matt

I think you’ll find that the service reminder will start counting down days until service is due a couple of weeks before.

Not 100% sure but I think that’s how it happens. I’d get it serviced anyway, to save 2 trips to the garage!

Service interval is 15000 miles or 12 months whichever is sooner. Mine gets serviced annually no matter how few miles it’s done.

The service schedule is quite clear

https://www.disco4.com/gallery/albums/user...m_MY10.pdf

a 3.0L (TDV6) D4 should be serviced every 12 months or 16k miles which ever comes first.

I must confess to being obsessive about servicing, I do c.12k per annum, but do an oil & filter change every 6 months - using the right oil & a JLR filter.

only do about 3k miles a year here, still serviced on the dot every 12 months and always to full service schedule spec Thumbs Up

10 year service next month! I think that's normal service plus extra fuel filter, coolant change, and gearbox/transfer box oil change?

Thank you all. Every 12 months it is then.

Guy salmon in Knutsford quoted me £356 for the service which doesnt seem too bad. Would prefer an Indy for the future though.

A good knowledgeable independent garage will know what is actually required on a low mileage 12 month service.

I do this too. I always have on every car I've owned. It's probably overkill, but certainly makes me feel better.

I also change the oil & filter on my two MGs every 12 months or 3k miles, and have done so throughout my ownership of them.
