Sticky backed Brake pads.

Hi All,

I just fitted a set of rear Meyle Disks and Pads supplied by the chaps at Advanced Factors. All four pads had a sticky backing pad on and I fitted with these in place. However I noticed on the Workshop Manual that they advise :

. CAUTION: If equipped, the adhesive strips covering
the outer brake pads must be removed before installation.
Failure to follow this instruction ma\ result in damage to the
vehicle.

I have not done this so am I to assume I should take the outer pads out and remove this sticky pad. I am not really sure how or why this would cause a problem.

Its a quick job so no issues if it should be done.

The sticky bit is only anti squeak, I would leave well alone.
You can actually buy the pads on their own to cure squealing brakes.
