Hence, hot glue gun and not a "super-glue".

You can get glue gun stuff off with a bit of work - BUT it would be enough to stop most tea leaves popping them out. A more substantial glue would be a different kettle of fish !

Youve made me think now.

I have a couple of datadot kits which I picked up really cheap a few years ago - $ 15.00 each they cost me. I think mine just might get a few invisible datadots onto the inside.

I got mine really cheap from my local bike dealer. Just asked nicely - BUT I spend as much there as I do with Land Rover !!! Well it feels like it some times.

Seriously, they are extensively used on bikes and most kits come with a chip that can be inserted inside a tank, seat foam etc without a trace. My Mini Cooper (when stripped for a re-build) was extensively covered in them.

One word of warning - you can see them if you look hard enough. I would always use on the underside or back of components. The sticker on your window advertising them works as the deterrent; the dots wont prevent the theft . . ..

DIY stores do them over here (at least Homebase does).

I got them from a bargain bin at Bunnings Hardware.

As far as ways to prevent this in the future I think engraving my phone number and "stolen property" on the back of them is a good idea.

Careful - you might just end up with the little scrotts making nuisance phone calls to you at unsociable times.

I would appreciate it if everyone on this board would refrain from bidding on this item as it would only be going towards this jerks benefit.

Sadly, too late now, but another option would have been to register a couple of new eBay accounts, bid them up to a ridiculous price, win the auction and leave negative feedback. A bit of hassle for you - but also a pain for the "seller".
