Neil thanks for the comment... but I don't see anything new in my approach in comparison to the existing team. The site moves at a very fast pace and keeping up with the moderation requirements has been a fair challenge as the site has grown.....the parameters of the role are very clear and now that there is an extra pair of hands it will only serve to offer a more consistent coverage IMO Thumbs Up

Agree with you there chap big time.

Direct attacks on someone's character is not quite the same as what your describing though.

We've always had spats and members thinking they can say what they want to whomever they want... and we will continue to do so.

I just hope that the current crop of 'issues' is behind us now and that we get back to what this place is all about - community.

Here Here
I still consider myself a newbie. This is the first LR I have owned (6 months now - time has flown Mr. Green ) and the first forum I have joined, contributed to (I hope in good spirit) and in all honesty it is the only forum I have seen that I have been "comfortable" joining ( Bow down Martin Thumbs Up ). I know I will be in relative terms a taker and not a giver due to my limited knowledge on all things LR so most of my posts will be more light hearted. However as a result of reading D3 posts, I am learning and have been able to contribute on a few topics that have fallen within my limited experience.

I went on the LR factory tour - it was a great day - and I couldn't help noticing how different we all were but one thing was clear we were ALL interested in LR - long may that continue.

If it wasnt for this forum I would be unaware of chips and tunes - on my 2009 wish list! - and I probably wouldnt be thinking of trying some offroading (always working when these seem to have been organised - another one for 2009 I hope).

Sorry for the babble but I hope to continue spending time on a welcoming forum where we can all voice opinions and respect those opinions. I am sure the recent tension is a blip ("forum time of the month" (Gareth - I think) seems to sum it up Laughing )
 ALTERNATIVES...............No alternatives for off-road capability.
If you want Surrey plush, go for a Range Rover. If you want Manchester bling it's the Range Rover Sport. But if it's a seven-seat, go anywhere 4x4, it's time to Disco.

....... There were countless pages of text regarding the arrangement of the visit, but hardly a word about
the factory day ..........

I was disappointed that there was no walk about the facility on the Forum for us to enjoy Crying or Very sad

Some insights or revelations would have been great.

It's difficult to know someones character through text even with emoticons. Can easily lead to misunderstandings that touch fears and strong feelings and thats when the flaming starts. Better to meet in the pub...

Just to make you aware, as the comments are now deleted, they were very clearly written and were not done in jest nor contained any sort of 'I'm only joking' emoticon.

So I'm afraid I took them seriously... silly me.

Sometimes meeting in the pub doesn't help either. Forcing a smile for 2 hours really hurts.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
