Stop start battery charging

Firstly am I right in thinking that the stop/Start has its own designated battery and if so does the Tow electrics charger adapter - CTEK available in the shop on the forum charge this battery along with the main battery when charged through the 13 plan towing electrics or is it the main battery only?

It does have it's own battery and no charging through the tow socket does not appear to charge it, I connect directly to the auxiliary SS battery to charge it.

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

As M3DPO says Thumbs Up You can connect directly to the secondary battery, and it’s also an AGM type, so set your CTEK to AGM Thumbs Up

Yes, you need to connect the charger directly to the auxiliary battery due to the electronics between the two batteries.

Stop/start battery is located on opposite side to existing battery, under the cover, it’s only small. Thumbs Up

What symptoms did you have to make realise you needed a new one?
My battery is number JDE32902 Exude but same specs, SS has never worked and I've never had a fault light come on until last week when it came on for a few mins on first start up, checked battery 9.9v! - even after charging all night.

My stop/start light is on most of the time. The stop/start battery measure just under 10v. How can I tell if the battery has died or the charging circuit faulty? Any other ideas?

This is on my MY16 D4.

Thanks

I’d start by charging the secondary battery, as 10v is very low. If it charges ok and holds it’s charge, then the battery’s ok. Remember it’s an AGM battery, so charge accordingly!
