Stornoway Grey (2007 replacement for Bonatti) Motor Show

Spotted at the motorshow, the new colour for the D3 for 2007 which replaces Bonatti Grey.

I don't think it's quite as distinguished as BG, it seemed to be midway between BG and Zermatt/Zambezi silver.

Just looks like silver in the photos, certainly much lighter than BG.

Wonder why they're replacing BG? I quite like the colour. Confused

like it... BG was nice but a tad too dark for the UK's dim light (most of the time).

Simon True! Looked good in ther early publicity shots set against the snow and ice.

Is it definitely replacing or just an addittion to the colour swatch?

Replacing BG, it wasn't on the colour wall at the motorshow Sad

A new colour has been introduced - Keswick Green. I'll see if I can find the colour chip images Smile

Make you wonder how popular BG was?

I really liked BG, looks ace on the Defender (Dad's 110 is BG). It was the colour in which I would have ordered a D3 Sad

Land Rover have done the same to me that MINI did with the Cooper S Evil or Very Mad

Suppose it's saved me money as I can't get the colours I want in either car Rolling Eyes

Colour wall:

Stornoway Grey chip:

Keswick Green chip (D3 only colour):

I came [this] Aardvark close to ordering BG - but was swung to Silver by the contrast it provided against the black plastic details.

I agree re the Defender; BG has almost a Hamerite look, which given the Defender's credentials certainly looked the part.

I dont regret not buying BG, but I am left wondering if.....

Hmmmm.

When I was on my mission to buy a stock D3 in less than a week at the beginning of June (succeeded admirably!) my first colour choice was BG. I was dismayed when the dealer told me that the colour was being withdrawn. He failed on the first choice but did get my second for me. With Buckingham blue you get two colours for the price of one, depending on the weather Smile

What's amazing is that LR now have a new blue for the Freelander 2 that's even darker than Buckingham Blue:

Allegedly "Baltic Blue" is still blue, see Buckingham next to it:

This goes with the two blacks (Sumatra metallic and Narvik solid) Wink

mmm amazing, me too ! Loved my mid grey Audi and wanted similar... Silver was the best to show all the detail, panel lines and surfacing... went for that instead. Only other colour I liked the look of (post purchase) was the Vienna Green (or whatever it was called last model year). Looked great with the dark grey / black plastics. Almost 'soft' military.

Maybe next time eh ?
