How will they know the module is knackered before they try to adjust it? That’s a worst case scenario they are giving you.
The worst thing you can do is keep using the epb if it’s making the horrible screeching noise. It will soon ruin the module.

Dont pull the switch up, and if it auto comes on hold the switch down when you turn the ignition off.
Just make sure you have another way of stopping the car rolling away 2010 Disco 4 HSE

Yep - It should, but personally I wouldn't put it just in park on a steep hill.
On the flat I normally just use park, its a little more forgiving when people tap your bumpers in car parks. 2010 Disco 4 HSE

Depends where you want to travel to. Flack (on here) is brilliant, but he is based over near Preston. 2010 Disco 4 HSE

If it is that anyway of doing it cheaper?

Thanks all.
Had exactly the same so I changed all the rear brakes and disc:- new pads , new discs, new wear sensor and new hand brake shoes followed the bible and 2 year down the line still no problems. It’s not as bad as you may think but understandable if you don’t have the tools and time. I’d still print it off and have a good read so you know who ever does it has done it right
I’m sure there’s a fuse you can pull to stop it activating when you remove your key Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes, pads, callipers, flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

I've also had similar problems. It was quite alarming the first time it happened, then finally, it locked up the EPB and I was stuck. Shortly after researching this issue, I released it manually through the console, and left it alone.
Recently, I had it repaired, and discussed this with my local Rover specialist. He said this is a known issue with the LR3, and said that it now works, just don't use it! The reliability is unpredictable...

In my view the reliability is excellent , with the proviso it is serviced. I have only had one issue in 13 years of D3 ownership which was with my first one, started screaming, and that only needed adjustment to cure. I use it all the time but always apply only when stationary.
