Strange whining noise (Not the wife) |
|
TDV6 HSE Auto 2005
Rumble (sort of drone) can be heard above 30mph appears to be speed related and more pronounced when taking a right hand bend, can't hear it when going fast. Any ideas TDV6 HSE - Light Guards - White Reflective Sticker

More than likely its the tyres. How many miles have they done?, and are they Wranglers? which are prone to making wheel bearing failing type noises when they get worn.

They are Wranglers, about 4-5mm tread left, only noticed this in the last few weeks but I haven't had the car for long. I'll try different speeds etc tomorrow and check the pressures. TDV6 HSE - Light Guards - White Reflective Sticker

I have a whirling noise because of the left front pillar trim. That plastic thing went away 2 years ago while driving at 80mph and the dealer said they fitted tighter clips. Now it's a little loose and makes the noise at 70-80mph so I'll get back to them soon.

I experienced a whinning noise when vehicle was around 12k.
Thought at first I was listening for problems as whine was so light.
However over the course of the next 3k miles it got worse and worse.
So much so that at 15k it was unbearable and therefore undriveable.
It was the transfer box!
LR renewed it and have had no problem since - now 84k.
Take it into your dealer, they have stethescopes and will go out 'two up' and find where the noise comes from. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
