Here is a couple of photos of my D3 showing the grill, bumper, wheel arches and mirrors in black
Chris
You mentioned that you'd had your arches sprayed... I'm wanting to do the same and wondered if you can recommend anybody?Faultmate MSV2 MultiVehicle

Hi,
They were originally painted by TH White when I bought it, who used a local company. But it was not the best of jobs. I am going to Autocolour in Wroughton:
Who have done work for me before and are very good. In fact I will be popping over to see them to discuss either painting a few bits or a complete re spray. I think the newer black on the D4 is a better paint. The D3 black is pretty naff to be honest. Takes a lot of effort to keep it up.
However, having said that I don't mind my D3 looking dirty as it was bought to go off road and does on a regular basis. After all that is what it was designed to do!
Best regards
Chris

My experience of autocolour was awesome they are pricey compared to some, but you get what you pay for.Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
Awaiting copies of quotation via email for respray of all plastic parts and a total respray.
Cannot make my mind up if I go for a complete respray if I should change the colour from Java Black to one of the newer blacks which always seems so much deeper to me. Or if I should go for something like Stornoway Grey which I have always liked and would not cause a problem with inside the doors. Decisions, decisions.
Oh cost wise it looks like somewhere between £2k - £3k for a complete respray, but as I say the quotes should come in via email today.
Best regards
Chris

Very, very nice, looks just like mine apart from nicer wheels and an 'H' on the boot D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

Haven't thought to sell them. May keep them for serious off road playing! Not sure yet.

Nice!
What about the mods to the headlights? (removal of orange and led's for side lights?)
Do you mean the D4 upgrade?
If so I think it would be a downward step. The D3 HSE of 2006 has the look around corner headlights and the D4 does not have this. Only I believe as an expensive option. Unless someone can advise me otherwise.
However, I would like to find a way of getting rid of the orange indicator if anyone has knowledge of how this can be done.
As seen on another thread, I have also ordered the twin monitor headrest with infra red headphones. Originally £1200 - £1300 but on eBay for £100! They bought a lot in so don't worry you can get them too!
