My MY11 D4 is definately very wallowy compared to my wifes D3 MY59.
Hers has a mixture of different tyres on it, which is how it was when she bought it in August. Mine has three Pirrelli and one Nexon. If there are groves on a motorway made by HGV’s, it aweful as you cross them. Smooth roads it just floats along.
I have only had mine for a few weeks, and wondered if the wallowy ride is ‘normal’ on a D4?

Would that make a difference? No signs of abnormal wear?

Yes it can make a massive difference. Especially when the road isnt perfect, like the truck ruts in lane 1.
It can be like night and day!

I noticed s really difference between the d4 09 cars and 10plates. The earlier cars had different suspension and felt wallowy. I didn’t notice a difference with 11plates over the 10. So maybe as said above, wheel alignment may be out.

I guess you will have thought about tyre pressures and the amount of wear left on the tyres, both of which can affect handling, so I won't mention them. I suspect that the suspension is working as it should?
Speaking about tyre pressures, I do tend to run mine a few psi above the recommended pressure, which seems to me to tighten things up a bit. Also, is the compressor working as it should? Can you raise and lower the vehicle successfully at will? Although I recall when mine was on the way out, I got the dreaded "normal ride height only available" message, but I didn't notice any deterioration in the handling at normal height.
The front upper/lower suspension arms might be worth checking too. Although again, if the bushes are failing, you'd hear them when you bounce over stuff.
That's me out of ideas. Obviously I'd check the simple stuff like pressures and alignment first, working up to the more expensive things.

Just on wallowy suspension - as its electronically controlled so therefore able to be tuned - has anyone reprogrammed it like VWs can (normal, comfort and sport modes)
Ie the faster you go the harder it gets. Last of the D4 HSE...

Unfortunately not possible on D4 as it does not have variable damping!
Some models of RRsport have electronic dampers, D4 has normal ones. The air control is only on the bags, ie effecting the height so more air more height. You can play with height settings as running very slightly lower can see minor improvemnets but not a massive difference!
I do wonder how good the Koni FSD dampers perform, anyone tried them?

A wallowy ride to me suggests it could be the shocks. Certainly was on my car, but then I rarely hear about the shocks in a D4, does it even have them with air bags?
