One other advantage of the alpine roof......less metal up there so when it rains it doesn't sound quite so tinny.

I like the extra light that comes in with the sun roof. Luckily I have never had any leaks. Only problem it has ever given was when parked up one day my husband lost our two year old when she climbed out of the sun roof as he was having a nap. That was the old Disco not the D3.

Does she know she is refered to as Mrs Dog??? Shocked Laughing Laughing Wink

Yes she does, she thinks its quite funny.

Used to be Disco Bitch on another Forum, but they would NEVER refer to her as that. I used to sign up for events as Disco Dog and Disco Bitch, but the list of attendees was ALWAYS Disco Dog and Val, She thought that was hilarious.

Absolutely nothing!

Who actually requires a sunroof and why?
Especially as all D3s have climate control.

I have had one on every car I have owned for the last 15 years and never actually used them. I also kept the blind closed as when it was sunny it shone in my eyes through it!

Vote accordingly please.

I totally agree, DD.

It's impossible here in the US AFAIK to buy a high end vehicle without this useless "option". This applies to Land Rovers, BMWs and MBZ brands that I have purchased. This useless feature, while it sounds good, especially here in sunny California, allows the sun to pound on you always at the most inconvenient times and ways. They're generally noisy, will blow whatever you have in your car all over the inside, sometimes even outside the car!! When I bought my wife's BMW in '05, I insisted that we get a price reduction for this item, and it was granted. Unfortunately my Land Rover dealer did not see it the same way, and in fact there is no way to tell here in the US how much is added to the cost of the LR3 due to this.

The only good thing I will say about it is that for the rear seat passengers the vehicle seems more "open". But since I'm never there what the H#!!.......... 8)

No sunroof on the D3.

SIII lightweight fulfills the "open top" needs (shame it's incapable of motion though...)

Had sunroofs on my D2, which were useful for polishing the roof Laughing

Now I just don't bother polishing the roof Embarassed
Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

I rarely use my D3 sunroof, but about 25 years ago I found them useful for sticking various arms or legs out of. Wink
