Sunroofs, Huh, What are they good for?
Absolutely nothing!

Who actually requires a sunroof and why?
Especially as all D3s have climate control.

I have had one on every car I have owned for the last 15 years and never actually used them. I also kept the blind closed as when it was sunny it shone in my eyes through it!

Vote accordingly please.

Never liked 'em or seen the point really Rolling Eyes I did consider getting an SE and speccing it up but come trade-in time it'd still be an SE to the dealer Twisted Evil

I purposely didn't go for a D3 with sunroof/s as I'd had bitter experience of being p*ssed all over in a D2. Something I won't forget .....in a hurry. Laughing

when stuck on that bit of M25 under the Heathrow flight path. Use to open the one I had in the Omega to check the tread depth on the Jumbo's wheels ...

on my last Discovery I had nothing but trouble with the sunroofs, so much so, that when I went to order the new D3 I made certain it did not have one. I can think of 10 reasons for not having one, but none in favour (except feeding the animals at the safari park).

Only ever had them on earlier cars without air con. Have had aircon cars for the last god knows how long & have never missed a sunroof.!
The HSE comes with them, but only the front one opens (so I gather) & still can't think why it's such a 'prestige' option (in some people's eyes).

As has been said previously, gotta make some difference to the structural integrity of it surely?

Only got it because I didn't want a spec'd up SE when it comes to re-sale value.....

looks like i'm the only one to admit to having a leak-free sun roof &, in the summer, actually using it! Fresh Yorkshire air makes a change from "conditioned" stuff out of the vents. But on a really hot day (obviously not that often up here Crying or Very sad ), it's a complete waste of time as you'll want the A/C on. BUT... were it not for them coming as std on the HSE, I'd NEVER have spec'd one as an optional extra.

That is bad behaviour...

You might get dents and scratches on your roof from cans and such if not careful.

Be nice to your car.

One of the main reasons I bought an SE rather than HSE. Any hole cut into metal then sealed is a weak point IMHO.
