SupaGard/DiamondGurad/anyother paint protection |
|
Hi all,
Still waiting (93 days to go...) Whilst waiting, i've been thinking aboiut whther the supagard paint protection stuff (or similar) would be worthwhile a) just to try to make it easier to clean b) try to retain as much value as possible when eventually re-sold c) how much damage would mild off roading/mud normally do without any protection.
there was some discussion on another thread about the Java black paint or lacquer being a bit soft, but this is a different question (I think)
any views? Bodsys Brake Bible

I had it done. But as it's only 6 days old and has ed it down every day since I got it it's difficult to tell if it's any good yet.
SWMBO had it done on her black '05 Saab and it looks very good when washed and leathered. Back in the game!

If you can be arsed, a "good" wax system like zymol is fantastic but does take time! 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

It's the 'if I can be arsed' bit that does me in. Zymol just takes sooooooo long to do and I'd rather be doing something else rather than 'wax on, wax off' all weekend!
DiscoDad, are you going on Sunday?
Ken, thanks, I'll see you there! (Thanks to AndrewS generosity)

I had Supagard on my Renault and thought it was crap, I was waxing it after 4 months.
My daughter had her renault done at the begining of this year and it seems worth while.
Sooooooooooooo I decided f**k the expense and had the Disco done in September by the dealer and I'm well happy with it, the D3 is easy to wash and comes up with a Meguiars microfibre cloth gleaming.
I think my first experience was the dealer stitched me up and it was'nt done.
Tell tale signs to me that it's been done is you spend a few hours getting the residual off the vinyl. this I never had with my first experience.
That's my dealings with Supagard and i think I would have it done on the next motor I get.

Had it done by the dealer Harwoods at Edenbridge before collection.
They quoted me £400 +VAT for the D3, I informed them that it should be cheaper for the HSE as they don't have to do the alpine roof....hence they said £400 inc VAT.
