Supid satnav going round in circles!!!!
Using a HSE D3 today as mines in at the dealers, I had to see some customers tonight at 6pm, set off in plenty of time but without really taking note of where they actually lived, I had the postcode which is all I usually need, but not this time, for some reason the stupid sat nav wanted to send me miles in the wrong direction and I ended up getting there a good 50 mins late.
Has anyone else had a similar problem with their sat nav, on my 2005 SE it works fine but on this 56 HSE utter garbage!!!
Also does anyone know the bluetooth code to pair a phone up with the "Land Rover" phone kit as I want to try it out before I hand the hire car back in the morning.

Have you tried 0000 or 1234, or 4321
I have not got BT in mine, so can't speak from any position of authority. Every BT device I have ever had is one of the above though

GPS signal will have been lost. Best thing to do is pull over and stop (when safe) Re boot, wait to check the system has locked on then continue. BTW when the system loses signal you will see a red line through the GPS icon top left of the Nav screen. Usually the vehicle telemetry keeps the navigation on track when the GPS signal is lost, however this only lasts for a short time.
But then again I'm not a technical type person, what I have described above works for me

Ya know Andrew, in 65000 miles, mine has NEVER lost its position!
Even driving through big tunnels, I get the red dash, but the vehicle sensors always keep it on track.
I would think that Choc's loaner has a fault. ( there was someone who had this before but I can't remember who it was - dickie dad or someone like?)

yep, although mine usually wants to send me some way I never agree with , it never ever looses its position, sounds like a problem, but nobody fixed it 2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. With 'free' privacy glass LOL.

maybe DylansDad offloaded the car to the dealer in question, if so you've got another 383 faults headed your way.

Thanks guys for the BT code, tried 1234 and 0000 before so I guess it will be 2121, I have seen it mentioned in the user manual, but mine is with the car, locked up at dealers!!
The sat nav error is a strange one, the software seems to ignore any destination i put in and wants to go the same route every time, all stored locations etc. have been cleared, but what I did notice was a constant shuffling sound coming from under the passenger seat, as though the dvd is having trouble reading the disc??
My position was always correct on the map and no red line through gps!
Damn typical though to cock up just when you need it most!

Ref Bluetooth connection, I have spoken to two dealers that advise me the LR system isn't great. Infact, the dealer who sold me my disco offered to supply me with an alternative one. In the end I bought a simple system that clips onto the sunvisor. Couldn't be happier with it!!

Sat-nav issue could be a couple of things, firstly, if the routing options have been messed with by the previous user of the loaner, this would / could give you a circular route, second thing is that in a lot of rural areas, postcodes tend to cover a larger geographical area than in urban areas, without a defined location, the sat-nav won't really be able to narrow your destination down to a single point on the map, it'll be an area, hence the 'confusion'
