Suspension drop when turned off

Hi
My 05 HSE has recently started to drop about 20 seconds after getting out and locking the car. Sometimes it seems to be when I am at the boot getting something else. It does not seem to be a leak as it sounds controlled. Does anyone else have this? I have had the car two years and this has started recently. The car raises as normal when started (and I have checked the suspension height switch is not being pressed). The suspension pump has been replaced twice in the last 18 months.

I asked the dealer if they have updated any software but only the gearbox software was done at the last dealer visit so cant see that being the cause.

Any ideas? I have searched and only found references to people asking to have this behaviour automated.....

Cheers
Wayne

it's probably got something to do with the fact you live in kent,,, and we all know kent is flat,,, so your D3 has never had to "self level" before.. now if you've ventured outside the garden of england then you'll be enjoying your D3 trying to make it "feel like home"

Sounds normal to me as mine has always done this.

It's nothing to do with getting the car level. Primary purpose is to scare the living daylights out of the neighbourhood cats.

You never see paw prints on an an air-equipped D3!

My 06 starting to do the same thing recently. After checking the car, the dealer said there is no leaks (air suspension), but the rear height sensor need to be replaced. My car is still in their shop, will post a feedback afterwards.

Is this the same as Access Level? or have I missed the point?

I always have to manually activate the Access Level every time to let muts out and to be at the right height when they want to go in.

It would be really cool if I could get this to happen automatically when I switch off.

I do get the "fart" occassionally when I drop it down to Access and walk round the back to let mutts out but been told that is normal

Most owner said it's normal. But it wasn't like that before, only starting recently; almost everyday when I started my car in the morning. When pluged in the computer, it really did show error message indicating a faulty height sensor. So the car shouldn't do that itself especially while any of the doors are open.

Mine has always performed its self levelling party trick when we get out & lock it. The kids find it quite funny.
It's odd how yours has only recently started doing it. Mine has never moved with any doors open.
