The belief from my shop was that blower the fuse meant compressor replacement.

I have the same problem with my d3 05. After reading what i have been able to find, i was tipped that it might be a leakage from one of the airhoses connected to the compressor. This is possible to test by applying some spray that detects gas/air leakages by creating bubbles in the area where air is leaking.
This is how it looks with an actual leakage: [img]
I have also read that there is a repair kit for this problem available. However, i have not been able to find it anywhere.. So if someone knows where to get a hold of this/these part(s), it would certainly make my day! If, in addition, someone has experience with this, please let us know!

Thanks Guys,
I have also been given a tip that there are some connectors attached to the nearside inside wing that get corroded and can cause a short... I have cleaned them and given them a good spraying of WD40...... touch wood, I haven’t blown another fuse since.... I guess in a week’s time I can be a little more confident. Fingers crossed!!!!
I will keep you all posted

So Far So Good!!!! My fuse still hasnt blown.... touch wood, fingers crossed.. anybody got a 4 leaf clover?!??! Mine was the 60 amp fuse for the air compressor.
The connectors I am talking about are just in front of the battery and are fixed to the engine bay on what looks like the back of the wing... they arnet actually attached to the wing.
They are basically 2 bolts that are welded to the car with several heavy duty looking wires bolted on to them.... they are completely exposed, so you have probably seem then a hundred times with actually 'seeing' them!
Mine were in a real mess, so I unbolted them, cleaned them, gave them a good spraying of WD40 and put them back on.
I dont know if that has fixed the problem, but it has been a week with no blown fuses, I just hope it has worked!

Well my ground "wing" was clean. My suspension compressor finally blew it's fuse last week. Once I replaced with a new one the suspension random warniings have disappeared. Do fuses slowly fail before blowing? So far so good...

DOH! Thats not good! what condition is your engine bay? I had been off roading a few times and mine was covered in mud.... I pressure washed it all, and cleaned the earth points, and it seems to be fixed! It has been nearly 2 weeks since mine last blew a fuse, I went through 3 in 3 days before I cleaned everything! The air compressor fuse seems to have 2 contacts, so I am guessing it can take 2 hits before it blows, so might last longer than a normal fuse...... but my experiance has told me it blows straight away!!
