Suspension Fault??

Hi There

I seem to have a fault with my suspension..I start the car and after about a mile I get a yellow image on dash and display reads "Suspension Fault" normal height only...if I switch off and switch on again the car is fine. The suspension works fine up and down etc etc but when this error message comes on I cannot adjust the suspension....It seems to have started after I had some new tyres...Could the ECU need rebooting? If so is that as simple as disconnecting the battery?

thanks in advance

Mike

Does the compressor make any more noise than normal since the tyres were fitted ?

Did they jack it up on the compressor housing ? ...

You need to check for any fault codes in the car .

Fill in your car details and location in your profile ..it may help to diagnose and recommend someone to check the codes for you

Err if you take the wheel off about half way up the strut is a small crane like arm.

Thats the bad boy, Im not sure how to check if its FUBAR.

Wiggs may have some diagrams for you as he is a grand wizard of all things D3! Bow down

go into your 4x4 screen on the touch screen ...does any of the wheels show a red icon above them ...or does any of the wheels show out of place ?

Which tyres did they change ? all , front , rear , just one ?

My LR3 HSE has the same issue. Occaisional suspension fault warnings. No driveability problems and the fault clears after vehicle is shut off and restarted. The LR3 sits normally and doesn't settle overnight. Compressor doesn't run all the time.

I will check the 4*4screen and look for icons tonight.

new compressor i'm afraid, it will have a very slight leak. If you look at how it sits after being left overnight, you'll find the front sits lower than the rear. Had the same very occassional message together with a slightly noisy compressor, new one fitted as of last week and for the first time HE FARTS!!!! Laughing

ps has your compressor last its farting noise - normally a good indication Thumbs Up

Nope. The LR3 is sitting normally front and rear after being left overnight. Front is sitting normal. Tonight I will measure so I will have exact mm. Should I disconnect the battery overnight?

Well the LR3 has been farting but I did notice the front had dropped about a 1/2" after been left in the garage for two days. I am going to have to check for codes I guess.

Many air compressor fuses blown!

Hello!
I too have developed a problem with my suspension...... it seems to work fine, no noises, no farting, no errors then pop, it will blow the 60amp fuse for the air compressor.... I have noticed just before it happens my headlights seem to dim, then get really bright, then pop!
It takes about 30 seconds from the lights flickering to the fuse popping.
I will say that this is happening even if my head lights are not on, but I seem to get a warning when they are on.
I have also had a long history of my brake lights popping.... I have gone through about 10 in the last couple of years, and as I speak, I know another one has gone... I don’t know if this is related to the fuses or not, but I thought it might point to another problem other than the dreaded compressor replacement route! (no warranty nnnoooooooo!!)
I am clutching at straws thinking I have an earthing problem?!?!

Help and advice is much appreciated!

Thanks

Chris
