Suspension Fault Message.

Hi there,
Everything was fine, I didn't hit any of the many potholes but about a mile after setting off things felt really weird on a tight LH bend. Then I got the message "SUSPENSION FAULT NORMAL HEIGHT ONLY". Also the message " SPECIAL PROGRAMMES OFF" All the lights to those programmes are off.javascript:emoticon('Sad')
I wondered if the suspension had raised to off road height without my notice but I'm fairly sure I would have been doing more than 30 before the bend.
I have seen that there have been instances of reset needed after off road usage. I have also noticed that it raises to off road height sometimes when I set off but have assumed that is because I have manually raised at the same time as the system would automatically raise.
I don't know if it is safe to drive any distance and I am a 3 hour drive away from the dealer. Also whenever it has been in the dealer in the past it has been there for 2 weeks and I don't know if this is a dealer only fault? I am not aware if the software should have or has been updated.
Any help would be terrific. Thanks.

Hi skyedog,
I can't comment on your circumstance, but it seems that, if this occurs, turn off the ignition and restart will often fix it for a period.

I think, in the long term, a compressor replacement is often required.

Other possibilities are a flat battery or wiring faults. Recharge the battery and see if this helps.

HTH,
Peter
