Suspension fault normal hieght only

I had a yellow light showing car moving side to side and the message "Suspension fault normal hieght only". I took it to the local garage who replaced the rear anti roll bar bushes. This has fixed an annoying knock that occured over bumpy roads but the above message has since come back. On two occisions over the last month it has also been low to the ground after not been used for a day or so.

What does this message mean?

Also when I turned off and on again message went but when I try to move up and down it will not go into access hieght just goes into extened mode and says remove obstruction (or something like this).

Looks like an air compressor issue if all sides are sinking. Is there still any warranty on your car?

Ohh, and eh warm WELCOME!

Had mine come on this morning - suspension fault normal height only.

Wont go away by restarting - hasnt sunk or anything and drives normal.

Air Compressor gone?

2 weeks out of warranty - fortunately TFC is visiting on Monday so I hope to get it sorted.

Is it worth getting a compressor in just in case..........................?

Sorry for the sort of hijack.

(8months of trouble free motoring gone down the Censored )

Sorry to hear that Dave. Can't believe this is happening 2 weeks after waranty. Hopefully just a compressor kit fix or sensor.

Did the dog perhaps mistook your car for a tree and took a Censored at the compressor compartment?

It would be his LAST action on this mortal coil if he did!!!! Rolling with laughter

Ironically it was driving him to the park that it came on.

I had the air dryer unit pop last year at my bros wedding in Weymouth and had to drive 200miles on the bump stops!!! Big Cry

I dont have alot of luck with this car!!

Sorry mate but there still can be numerous causes. Pressure sensor, valves or plugs/wiring.

You can short the compressor in the fuse bay to see if it starts running..........

Welcome Green_discovery. Thumbs Up

The warning light indicates a problem with the air suspension it could be anything from a faulty height sensor to compressor to a leaking bag,not colostomy.

You need to get the fault codes read and this will point you in the starting direction to cure this problem the garage who fitted your ARB bushes to cure your sinking susp probably dont have a fault code reader get it to your local LR garage or independant someone on here will point you in the right direction,if it under warranty then go the a LR garage if not give TFC.forum member and ace mechanic a call you can e-mail him from the site or goto www.offroad-essentials.com. He might be in your area soon as he criss crosses the nation Thumbs Up
Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Start the car up, shut all the doors and reach in through the passenger front window. Hit the suspension up button to off-road height. Put your head down by the compressor (in front of NSR wheel). If no noise is heard would suspect the compressor has gone.

Thanks for help so far.

Unfortunately car is out of warranty (is 6 years old). The compressor runs when you ask it to go up but if you leave it ticking over but not moving the compressor cuts in and out every few minutes. Does this mean there is a leak?

The local garage can download the fault codes ok but maybe have less knowledge of what they mean than other members here. Is there a cheap way of getting the fault codes out myself?

Other forums seem to suggest a leaking exhaust valve in the compressor is a common problem on early models, is this likely?

Thanks in advance.

There's a cable (behind the wheel arch I think) that can get chaffed and wear through. This affects the operation of the valve block. Worth checking simple/cheap things before jumping to expensive solutions Thumbs Up
