Suspension Fault and Wheel Alignment

I took my 2006 LR3 to an independent mechanic to have upper control arms installed, I have been slowly replacing components that may be tired due to the 220k mileage and within 100 yards of leaving his shop the red suspension error light came on and the truck dropped to the bump stops. I have checked every connection and cleaned them, rebuilt the compressor, and am wondering if anyone has advice. I read in a very old post that wheel alignment can cause the suspension to drop to the bump stops, can you tell me if when that happens will it illuminate the red suspension error light? The light clears when I cycle the ignition but then comes back on after a few miles of driving.

If any part of the EAS has been disconnected / dismantled the system will need to be recalibrated a using diagnostic tool such as IID. What codes are showing now?

If you have rear uppers or lower fronts replaced you will also require a 4 wheel alignment followed by steering angle sensor re-calibration.
Failure to do so will result in the exact symptoms you're experiencing.................usually within 100 yards of driving away. Rolling Eyes

In short, you've messed with the cars geometry and it'll require resetting. Wink

Thanks for the quick replies, I'll schedule an alignment Monday! I think I can re-calibrate the steering wheel sensor using my nanocom.

Still no luck

Well I took the truck to Goodyear and they did a 4 wheel alignment and said it was out quite a bit. I turned the steering wheel from lock to lock and back to middle within 10 seconds and although it seemed to go farther than before the red suspension light came on. I parked and tried the lock to lock again and still no go. This morning I used the Nanocom to recalibrate by holding the wheel as close to center as possible and calibrated with the Nano then turned the wheel lock to lock and still it's throwing the suspension error after a couple of hundred yards on a straightaway. It seems that as long as I stay on curved roads the light stays off. I'm open to any ideas.

**Fixed Maybe?**

Last ditch effort I started googling my errors I was getting and the cross articulation brought up a post recalibrating the suspension so I used the Nanocom to do a recalibration and I'm now about 50 miles with no error light or message. Possibly cause for cautious optimism. Thanks everyone for your advice.
