hi Dom,my only concern was that had i not of attened the landrover show at gaydon on the day after me picking up the car then i would of been lemoned with a car three years down the line which when selling on would not be the car that i have paid for , i cannot see the dealership changing the car after three years . another point rasied at the show, how can a dealership have a car for demo and not know the right spec. still i now have a new L3TDV6S 05 plate instead of a ex demo due to them not being able to find me another demo L3TDV6S with the same amount of milage onit. cheers alan

Suspension Fault message

I picked up my LR3 HSE7 ordered back in Dec '04 finally on 7/20/05 and set off the next day on my first trip in a Land Rover. About 100 miles down the road, I get the first of many suspension fault messeges during my trip. Problem happens when pulling away from a stop and when lowering the vehicle to access level. Vehicle was driveable, so luckly was able to complete my trip with no delays, just constant chimes and failure messeges. Took into the dealer today to look and hopefully fix suspension problem. Waiting to hear back what the solution is. Crying or Very sad

Suspension Fault

Well I'm on my going on my fourth day at the dealer's service department to fix my suspension fault. Went to pick up on the first day, having been told it hadn't been taken out of transport mode and everything was ok after a reset. Got in and lowered the LR3 and had the same suspension fault message as when I took it in that morning. Told them to keep it until they figured out what was wrong. Service tech stated it needed a right rear suspension sensor and so they overnighted one to the dealership. Installed today and are still getting a fault message so now they have ordered for overnight delivery a right front suspension sensor as it is now showing bad. Hopefully will get back tomorrow. This is my first Land Rover and have driven it 5 days and in the shop for four. Not off to a good start.

You must be heading for your 3 hits lemon jobby by now? But it appeares to me that it is a dealer problem again with repair staff who really don't know how to fix the cars first hit.

Yup and if the dealer can't diagnose, probably due to lack of training, certainly lack of experience of the systems. You are lucky if they can get the parts.

Don't forget the car doesn't use testbook that other LRs use, it is the Jaguar system that dealers have no experience with.

Update on suspension fault

Called the dealer this afternoon about picking up my LR3 HSE7. It has been in the shop since tuesday of this week for suspension failure upon lowering. Today they replaced the front suspension height sensor after it had been overnighted. Yesterday they replaced the rear right suspension height sensor after waiting a day for it to be overnighted.

When I called this afternoon, the service advisor stated that my vehicle was now giving a different failure message and that they would need more time to figure out what was going on. Stated they would probably have to contact Land Rover to get help with the problem. Failure message started aroung 100 miles and I have now had the vehicle only 5 days and by next Monday, the dealership will have had my LR3 for 6 days. Will wait to see what the dealership says on Monday before I start the process of contacting LRNA customer relations. Don't know if that will make any difference. I do have loaner so can get around, but not like having my own vehicle and it is not a HSE with Nav and towing. Evil or Very Mad

Sounds like par for the course, whether over there or here in blighty.

Hope u get fixed, the suspension electronics and the mechanicals do seem somewhat 'fragile' considering they must have done a lot of pre production testing.

I personally can't equate why all these problems seem arising. They must either be resourcing/respecking parts to cut production costs or else they must have released the product to market without doing enough testing.

Either way its us that's doing their work , and paying for the privelige.

I got the dreaded 'Suspension Fault' message again this morning so the car spent all day at the dealers. They couldnt fault the suspension and no fault codes had been stored, they did however find a oil leak on the rear diff which they fixed. Picked the car up at 16:30 and a few miles down the road I get 3 chimes and 'Suspension Fault'. I turned around and went back to the dealer for them to see the fault, they had a look and got the other 2 messages ('Vehicle raising slowly' and 'vehicle will rise when cooled down') as well. They told me to leave the vehicle in normal height over the weekend and they would have a word with LR on Monday, hopefully it would not fail altogether. Well judging by the messages i got going home tonight I dont think it will last the weekend!

Hi, I will join you today with a suspension problem. It was similar to yours. I think mine was computer only however, but who knows. Dealer aware and ordering a compressor just in case. It is cheaper for him to do that than lending me a RR Vogue with tow bar, the only one they have with a tow bar.

We wait and see.

Tim, mine was an electrical suspension fault at this stage anyway. The dealer has placed an order for when the compressor goes. Thats encouraging.

No probs, but your point is a very good one, as we do lose the threads a bit.
