Suspension not in customer mode

Just collected my car from the local specialist after replacing the lower arms and there is a message about the suspension not being in customer mode. I don't have iidtool yet so can't reset myself. They are closed until Monday.

Is it OK to drive over the weekend?

You need the IIDTool to change from "Special Mode" AKA "build Mode" to "Customer Mode" (normal mode):

When finished the service operation, simply put it back into customer mode by calling the Build Mode function once more:
- IIDTool Menu->Service Test->Suspension->Build Mode
)

or THE JLR SDD

Thanks, but I don't have iidtool and the garage is shut. Is it OK to still drive the car over the weekend?

Does it have LR Assistance or similar? You might be able to persuade them to come out and they may be able to change the setting. No idea if OK to drive though. Some LR dealers are open Sat morning, might be worth giving one a ring.

No, no warranty or LR Assistance. I've called all the other specialists and none are open today. Mixed advice about whether to drive, LR dealer says no, specialists say short journey only.

Looks like I'm hiring a van for the weekend. Mad

See if any of the forum specialists are local to you over the weekend. You need someone with an IID Pro tool or similar which isn't vin locked.

Did the message appear as soon as you started the car, or appear after a while?

I don’t know if it is ok to drive, but I wouldn’t. It does beg the question whether the car was road tested after the work - they should have noticed this when moving the car from the workshop to their collection car park.

As soon as its started. I have driven a couple of miles but will leave it until they are back on Monday. It does suggest they overlooked it during the road test.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!

If garage not open til Monday and no IID tool access, try full reset by shorting battery leads ?

I suspect it will do whatever it thinks is necessary to protect itself if you choose to drive it.

If you have had the arms done it will have been on Hunter so will have been put in tight tolerance mode, needs putting back to normal.
