Suspension warning light on

Could this be the compressor, or something else?

You really need the codes read to establish the problem

Lots of things it could be. A garage or someone with a diagnostic tool might be able to pin it down, but even then you might be back to using soapy water to identify a leak Whistle

I'm thinking it could be the battery as a couple of weeks ago it went flat very quickly and also the compressor is making more of a noise than ever before.

Did a battery charge today and slow to recharge and the Yellow warning light keeps coming on.

Need to find and visit a local Indy in Poland tomorrow.

Is the suspension functioning or does it drop, or give an overheat message when raising?

hi the pump appears to be struggling more than normally and soon brings on the yellow warning light, and no lights on the centre console.

Could be the battery and the compressor.

May also be the desiccant needs replacing or you may have a leak especially in the tank. I would take the compressor out and check it over

If its the original compressor there is also the possibility of the crack between the two connectors on the drier, but probably more likely its the desiccant in the drier or the tank - liberal spray with soapy water whilst running might help detect the leak if there is one

I am going to replace the unit.

There appears to be a range available on ebay from £130 to £350.

Obviously the more expensive ones are OE.

Are the cheaper ones recommended or not???

Well unless there is some indication that you really need to replace the compressor, and you are a little handy with a wrench, I would get the codes and it will tell you where to start.
There are 3 things I have done that costs little and are not very hard to do.
Changing the desiccant, cleaning the exhaust system of the compressor, rebuilding the compressor, rebuilding valves.
I would do research here and see if you think you would be up to the work before just swapping parts, cause it could be multiple things that could run into a thousand dollars if you were to replace all items that could be giving the yellow rockin rover light.

I have done all three with help from this forum, many instructions and you can pretty much search for the error codes once they are obtained.
Then put the money toward a diagnostic tool for next time. Cost of a replacement compressor gets you part of the way to a tool, and I have saved loads of cash with my IID Gap Diagnostic tool.

Used this kit on my Disco over a year ago and it is still working fine.

Have used their kits over the years from my RR P38 days which had EAS.

If the compressor motor is fine, an overhaul does the trick 99% of the time.

4 x 4 air seals

Lookup 4x4 air seals on Utube and ebay. They have informative videos and really god pricing on the right seals needed.
Everything I have gotten from them have been spot on and reasonably priced as well.

Here's a link to an outstanding video about the exhaust air system on a hitachi/dunlop compressor:
