Can anyone help? i have a 2004 discovery 3 SE and started to get the yellow suspension warning light coming on about 2 months ago, the suspension would not go into access mode and sometimes i would loose the special programs. once the ignition was switched off and on the fault would clear and all ok for a short time. I have had a new compressor fitted and now raises and lowers etc with no problem also one of the height sensors was diagnosed as being faulty so this was changed. However the warning light still comes on randomly sometimes within 2 miles sometimes not for a couple of journeys. The battery has been checked and found to be very good still. I thought the problem occured mainly when all the elecrtics were on (heated seats, heated windows etc) due too cold weather but have tried with nothing extra inc lights switched on and still the warning light comes on randomly. have had the wiring checked at front wheel as i read it can chafe at this point getting very fustrated with the issue its not effecting the opperation of the suspension now but every journey is spent waiting for the chime and the light to come on. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks in anticipation
regards Richard

Hi Richard, the best thing to do is have the vehicle "plugged" into a diagnostic unit either at the dealer or a good independant,i can recommend TFC,forum member. As you have had the warning light a fault code should be logged and this will give you a starting point.
With mine i have had the orange light a few times and its always been height sensors,i have had nearley twenty replaced!!!
Good luck Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Thanks for your reply, i have had it in with a good independant and the fault code said the right rear height sensor was faulty they changed it, (then the compressor at next visit). On next "puggin" it said right rear sensor again. cleared fault and sent me on my way. approx 3 miles later bing and light is on. stopped restarted all ok for about 5 miles. this is the sequence of events on every journey but can go up to 20 miles before "bing" etc!! Not due in again to have it looked at untill new year (he has gone skiing) so will have to live with it till then looks like i have only another ninteen sensors to go!! however i have a gut feeling its a wiring problem but will let you know how i get on. I've been getting random suspension errors for months now, but when TFC had a look last time he was here no faults were being stored in the system. At the moment it thinks there is something under the car and keeps going into extended mode. So probably no Disco over Christmas.
Waiting for TFC to book me in ASAP! As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way
