Swapping tow electrics

Currently have two 7 pin sockets and want to swap to 13 pin

Anything special I need to know before I have a go at changing them over

Thanks as usual for any advice

Simon D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black
D3 2005 SE Java Black - p/x to D4
D2 2001 GS - p/x to D3
D1 1998 - p/x to D2

I just did it in about 30 minutes. Half the loom is already in place due to the white 7 pin socket.

Took a bit of head scratching to make sure I put it in the right way around so that the flappy lid wouldn't clash with anything once the bayonet fitting from the trailer was connected.

You will need to change the CCF file to tell the car it's now got 13 pin electrics G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

@wiggs - didnt on mine, and dont appear to have any issues

what would be different in the CCF file in terms of functionality?

Al Volvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

No problem will save me putting them in the for sale section or ebay

Will be a couple of weeks before I get a chance to remove them and put the 13 pin on

If I do need to - presume my new IID tool will be able to do this

One of the pins can be selected for reverse lights / fogs and something else I can't remember right now Shocked G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Yes . Thumbs Up

You won't need to disable the parking sensors .. As the towing electrics will switch them off when in use G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

It's the 7 pin that's selectable

 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I do hope so, having them keep going off every time I reverse with the caravan or bike rack is a pain in the Censored  D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black
