SWMBO is happy
......got her this to replace her Disco' Sport. She's well chuffed with it.
Have to say that for 6-7 year old car it still looks fantastic and especially in this colour, looks stunning in the sun.
It's a Landmark 2.0d model. Basically a HSE with Autobiography bumpers and then contrast grey roof, matching 19" wheels and body lettering and limo glass as standard.
I still prefer the more 'masculine' DS but have to say impressed with this for an 'old car' now
my lovely wife has one. She loves it and I have to say I quite like it too. It does have the world's smallest boot.____

SWMBO has a 2014 Evoque, which she loves. It's the first car she's ever had which she hasn't been itching to change after 3 years. Her only complaint is that she has gone for manual, rather than auto - although she doesn't like the Disco to drive as it's too big for her, she does like it's auto box.
(Her words on the Disco, not mine - and I cast no aspersions on her driving abilities, given that she's the IAM member in the house).
But..... at the recent LR Experience Day, courtesy of our dealer (not-so-subtle reminder that the car is 4 years old and that she might want a change), she was REALLY taken with the Velar. I might acquiesce, as getting her the Evoque let me get the D4 - no new car wanted for me, but it might let me get the mods I'd love.... . Anyway, unlikely to be my decision as she's the one who makes the money in the family.2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze
2012 - FL2 2009 GS Stornoway Grey
2001 - VW Passat Estate Inky Blue
1999 - Ford Mondeo Light Blue
1998 - Rover 25 Red

Yeah the Evoque is starting to show it’s age but there was one of those Landmarks in the showroom in that colour when I ordered the Velar, it looked the part.
In 2011 though when I ordered mine there was nothing else like it, the hype around the car was phenomenal. My one was subject to delays so eventually took delivery in January 2012, and loved it, hardly any on the road as most customers faced delays, the attention it drew when parked in car parks was crazy, come the supermarket to find people looking round it.
Entry Level TD4 Pure manual with optional 19” alloys, auto lights, fog lights and power fold mirrors, for what now anyway, seems like a bargain, less than £30k new

SWMBO got a long loan of a DS 270hp petrol, OMG, it is a flying machine.
The woman developed a heavy right foot and a bout of Tourette’s when coming across any Boy Racer. Totally changed her character.
Just waiting for the Fixed Penalties to come flooding in.

Mine loves her Jazz (her third) but she keeps hinting about a DS. Years ago she had umpteen VW golf GTis. A new one every two years. She didn’t hang about. She’s older now and has more sense. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Boot is enough for our needs but it, and rear leg room, considerably smaller than her last DS

It looks lovely in that colour so much better than white that every other one seems to be painted Cheers Ian

You can only get the 'Landmark' in Yulong White, Corris Grey or this, optional, Moraine Blue. Only one choice for me, even if it's avaiable still when she swaps it I wouldn't have either of the other colours.
Something like 89% of Evoque's are covered by six colours from the range. Similar across all the models hence the plethora of grey's you get Dealers insist the popular colours are made available to them as that is what the public dictates in orders

LRs colour palette is terrible, 50 shades of Grey, a Red, dark Blue and a dark Green, The Velars palette is even worse. When I bought my Evoque the brightest colour was Colima Lime and that turned out to be a washed out green not as nice as in the brochure, I didn’t want Grey or Black, Red just didn’t do it for me and Mauritius Blue wasn’t available to order straight away, so white it was. That’s why I stumped up £1660 to get Namib Orange on the D5.
My favourite colour was Mauritius Blue, loved it on my Fl2, would’ve liked it on the Velar.

The great thing about the greys is their ability to not look dirty in 5 minutes. For those who do lots of miles and/or loathe cleaning cars, this is a must-have feature.
The blues, reds and most other colours can look fabulous but only when they're clean. As soon as they get a misting of road grime, they look, well, uncared for.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

^^^^ think that’s a big part of it. Also all the car experts saying need ‘neutral’ colour to maintain 2nd hand values, blah, blah, blah
