Martin,
In a post I just made, I tried to create a table of registration statistics, like the following couple of lines.
Discovery 1543 (Diesel 1498)
Range Rover 725 (Diesel 431)
However, everywhere where I had a tab character (I had prepared the post offline), it was converted to a single space, so that the columns don't line up any more.
Is there any recommended way to create tables, lining up the columns, in a post? Do you have just to type multiple spaces? I have seen too that spaces at the beginning of a line are stripped away. That is sometimes annoying, because indenting can help to make things clearer.
