Tailgate Stuck

Car has been locked, unlocked etc etc but we still cant open the bloomin boot.
As you press the button/pad under the rear number plate light, you can hear the buzz/ whirl of the mechanism but it wont open. It appears to be stuck on the drivers side somewhere.

Anyone else had this or any ideas ? Question

Just had my tailgate fail.

Not any easy job removing the trim, but got there in the end.

Used a coat hanger to pull the cable & the upper section opened up.

Turned out to be a loose connection or some other similar wiring issue on the actuator.
