Take care when changing a wheel

Here is a tip for how to give yourself a hernia by changing a wheel. The secret is to pull upwards, really hard, on a wheel brace. That will do the trick nicely - certainly worked for me.

Apparently, if you would rather avoid all sorts of discomfort and appointments with knife wielding surgeons, only ever push downwards on a wheel brace.

Wish someone had told me that a couple of weeks ago.

I've been known to stand on wheel braces to get the lug nuts off before... Whistle

Granted I'm sure someone will chime in and condemn this as a bolt-weakening dangerous activity, but no problems yet! Thumbs Up I'll let you know when one of my wheels falls off..

Do yourself a favor and buy this wrench insteed of the crappy LR's mini wrench, this should decrease the chance of getting hernia, already done the surgery one year ago Sad

Do a search on ebay, and don't forget to buy the correct socket size for the lug nuts (am not sure but I think they are 22mm)

I've had a cross shaped brace (with 4 different sized sockets on each end) for years - great because you can push AND pull at the same time. Thumbs Up

Advantage of the breaker bars in Q8's post is that if the stealer has put them on with a N Sea drilling rig I can dploy all my weight on the bar to undo the nut! Whistle Whistle

if you (or your service station) tighten the screws according the manual, you don't need an extension at all.
and your back wont' hurt.
