Re-set the trip/average mpg/average speed display and then check it in a few mies/days time.

Short trips and idling etc won't do it any favours.

What is the average speed reading?

her car before was a Audi 3.0tdi Quattro. Bloody quick for what it is. So it's prob the trouble. She maybe trying to boot the bus out the corners wondering why it's not performing like the Audi lol.

My wife has a 3.0tdi quattro and you cant compare it to a D3 2.7 in anyway, the Audi responds instantly to the throttle and is like a scalded cat and it goes around corners Mr. Green
She doesnt like driving the D3 as she reckons its got no power and handles like a jelly! after driving her car for a few miles I can see what she means.

I have a 2006 D3 with 160k on the clock.
Did a journey to London a few months ago and I was returning 36.5 mpg @ 70 mph.
The EGR's are blanked off though.

I had an issue with my injectors after getting a crap re-map carried out, my mpg dropped to 21 on motorway runs but was going into limp mode if any great throttle applied, I bit the bullet and got new injectors fitted and average about 28 now but with some care I can get 30+ on a decent motorway run.
Hope you get things sorted

Sorry don't believe you - unless that was down hill with the wind behind you. I never got more than 31mpg on a full tank, in 174k miles - and the 30mpg I did get once, was due to the M1 road works and was sat at 50mph all the way.

Can't get even close to that I have never had my V8 below about 12.5 and I do use the loud pedal.

36.5 mpg is what I got
Put the auto box into sport mode and pushed the gear lever forward to put it into 6th speed, the revs dropped and the MPG went up.
I will however do another run along the A1 to prove that

So short run? I could get 100mpg downhill, but long distance (I.e a tank of juice) you don't have a prayer.

And if you are relying on the computer, then take 10% off for a start.

All IMHO of course!

3yrs with mine, rough rule of thumb town work genuine 20 mpg, distance work you might see 30 on cruise at 70mph for an hour or so but dont bank on it!
