I am no authority, but I'll wager that the next facelift D3 will have the 3.0 TDV6, not the TDV8.

They are a good dealership, everything they have said in the past has come true so far and shortly in LR terms could still mean a couple of years! keep having a go at other dealerships and you wont have a good name!1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

It just makes sense to have th V8 in the D3, the D3 needs the power more than the Full Fat Range or RRS, out of the 3 I believe more people are going to use the D3 as a workhoarse, and if you need 7 seats again it's the only one with that option.

No chance, not until the D3 starts becoming uncompetitive against its peers. The RRS is the biggest need IMO as it squares up against the X5 and ML which are much quicker. The FFRR is the flagship brand so shouldn't be out gunned. If you put the V8 in D3 I think it will step on their toes. I would like to buy a V8 FFRR next year (if I can convince SWMBO) but if they put it in the D3 I'd buy one of those instead. With the basic FFRR being £54K that would have to cost LR moneyDS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

The main reason for no TDV8 in the D3 is a problem of weight, evidently the D3 as it is already approaches the max GVW allowed, sticking a V8D in it will make it just too heavy, but then again watch this spacve evidently there is a move to try and shed weight from the D3. So maybe this will allow it to get the V8D, but not for a long time if at all.

Isn't this around the story of a completly different manufacturing process for the RRS remodel in 2010? I can't see them even thinking about the TD8 option until the remodel personally.
Along with the views that it will be too close in price etc to the /FFRR.
Ultimate power I guess will go with the ultimate (in LandRovers eyes) model in the range.

Eh? The TDV8 is already available in the RRS!Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

I remember speaking to Chris from Turbochips a while back and he mentioned that the 3.0Ltr was little more than some kind of EU compliance to some regulation or other and it wouldn't add much in terms of power or economy

TDV8 hmmmm...lots of conflicting timescales
My advice if you really want to know when... is look to the stars The problem at the moment is that Jupiter is in line with your anus 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
