TDV8

Hi,

Anyone know when the Disco will have the new TDV8 engine fitted? I really miss my old TDV6 and can't wait to join the ranks of D3 ownership again.

Far as I am aware they are not putting a TDV8 into the D3 - HSE spec would be touching circa £50k - not far off FFRR prices!

For what it's worth a LR area tech rep told me that there isn't a sufficient supply of engines to put it in the D3.

It's already in the RRS! Poor supply problems means that only a few are already built. Loving the power of the TDV8!

Thanks guys, thought about the RRS but it just doesn't have the versatility or the looks of the D3

There's a chap on RRS who has one - says it is fantastic, knocks the supercharged for 6! Loving the power of the TDV8!

I was told by one of the instructors at LRE that LR are not going to put it in the D3.

However, if the demand is there............, They may just change their mind. Perhaps we should start a poll and send the LR Duncan

Surely it will all ultimately come down to cost, though? D3 HSE TDV6 list price circa £43K? It would have to be pushing £50K for a TDV8.

Much as I can't wait for my D3, if I were offered an FFRR for the same money I'd go with the Rangey every time!

LRE Guys sure as hell know their stuff, but as far as Land Rovers Future business plans are concerned, do they really have any idea what is going on?


My guess is no. D3 TDV8 HSE on order, Should Arrive 2017. If i'm lucky.
