Apparently there was quite a bit of Ford input in the TDV6/8, especially the CGI block. Not true for all the Ford engines, though... Disco 5 HSE Lux

Unless you have cash to burn, and to pay for the extra fuel = No brainer 
It's the insurance/warranty issue stopping me from having the chip.
