I have several phones kicking about, most of which will connect perfectly well via bluetooth to a D3, question is, is the cradle worth having?, it would mean I'd need to use my 6100 (instead of my N80) but just how much extra does using a cradle get you (apart from better signal and charging)...also, anyone know how much the cradle is an will it fit with the coolbox a hse has?
thanks in advance 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

If it's the same as the RRS go with the cradle - about £80. The advantage is that you have all the numbers on your sim available throught the car's system. Loving the power of the TDV8!

I would say go with the cradle, if your lucky you might pick one up on ebay for £45 but they usually go for around £80 + postage - IIRC they are about £110 + vat from the dealers.
When I got my HSE I used bluetooth at first but I managed to get a cradle for my 6230 (like you I had a few phones at home) off ebay for £45. It is a lot better connection and you see the names of people you are calling or are calling you on the radio display. Also you can select a name or number from the phone's directory via the radio controls. The main other benefit is that the phone uses the external arial mounted on the roof when you are using the cradle so the signal is a lot better.
By the way I have the cooler box in my hse and the phone/cradle fits no problems. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Shame is that you have only access to the default number of each contact. Even with the cradle. The additional numers are only available on the phone.
