How do I tell if the steering wheel is compatible?

Hi All
I have just acquired a heated wheel with cruise and flappy paddles for my 2009 D4 GS. Which at the moment has the stock wheel without paddles, heating or cruise.

I expect I will need a new rotary coupling but I’m sure I heard that a later wheel isn’t compatible with an earlier car???? Is this true? If so any idea how I tell the age as I have no idea what age car this is off!

Also anyone know of a guide for fitting these and I expect I will need the ccf updating as well??
Cheers

Edit pic of new wheel added!

Great thanks, how do I remove a switch pack? Do they unclup or unscrew? Don’t want to force t and end up breaking it?

went to the garage and took a look at it. I think it’s from a 2016 or later car as there is 2016 date on one of the flappy paddles! Also removed the switch pack and the module has the MY14 Code on it.

Can I just replace the module or is this a no go from the start now??

I reckon you would need to replace the module, wiring loom and rhs switchpack.
It is doable but would be much easier and probably cheaper to get a setup from an earlier year
Good luck Thumbs Up

Dgardel if he doesn't need the 2009 ECU can I buy it from you? I've just done a D4 heated wheel upgrade on my D3 with BBS boards and the wheel doesn't heat up and I've lost cruise. The steering wheel is from a 2016 car and I need an older one
