Terrain Response to remember setting
During winter time I would like to keep the Terrain Response on Snow-setting most of the time. Problem is that car keeps randomly reverting it back default setting on next restart. Weird thing is that sometimes Snow-setting is retained sometimes not. I haven't found any logic when setting is retained and when not.
Does anyone know how it is supposed to operate and how to keep the setting from previous start?

There is a logic to it and there is an article about it on the site somewhere. Most of the TR settings revert to normal on next restart unless the period is very short but GGS is one of the ones that should stay active between switch-offs; but even here there is a limit before it reselects normal for the next ignition cycle (48 hrs?).Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I've been observing the operation more closely during past few days and generally GGS mode stays active between restarts. But this morning it switched back to normal mode at the restart when there was just 10 min off period between.
So it doesn't seem to be consistent.

Doesn't GGS on a dry road potentially cause problems with Diff wind-up ?

If you ask me, the terrain response setting to remember is sand mode !! They showed me it on the Land Rover experience.
Foot to the floor from a standstill, it turns the wheels slightly to get the car moving then all hell breaks loose !!
I'm sure at the traffic lights this would be mightily impressive. Of course, I haven't tried it Velar MY18 D180 S Narvik

Why would you use it on a dry road
A big part of the TR is throttle response basically in GGS it backs it off, in Sand you get more oompf once rolling In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Presumably if the OP wants it on permanently that's what will happen some of the time

I can smell something ! I remember driving home from Billing a couple of years back in the G4. Car was fully loaded and we had a 750kg trailer on the back. Some in a Hyundai coupe thing being a bit of a dick. We stopped at the lights on the roundabout at Thurrock joining the M25. I mentioned to SWMBO that I knew this great trick. Sand mode and to be fair, we did take him by surprise but left him for dead up to around 50 Car had just had a BAS remap done by Pete Bell so was at around 240bhp. Very impressive. Yes, I'd like it start with the same setting where I left it.
Here the smaller roads are icy or have packed snow, so I prefer driving with GGS mode on those. Same applies to my yard. But every now and then the car has forgotten the setting I left it in with.
Wouldn't it be obvious that if you use certain setting to get somewhere and turn off the car, then you most probably want to continue with the same setting to drive off from there? Now you need remember to check the setting each time after restart.
