The auto does have a slight lag - don't really know about the manual - but remember that its not a sports car - you are trying to propel 2.7 tons along and flooring it will probably be handled by the computer in the way you have experienced. The way to really tell the difference is to ask for another test drive but in a different disco - if it doesn't happen then, you know there may be a problem. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

This delay is very noticable on the autos. I've only driven a manual once and didn't notice it, but then I didn't floor it. It does get better as the engine beds in though. Our RRS has now done 15,000 miles and is much faster than it was when new. They start to improve at 5,000 miles and get better and better. Matt

If you were to put the TR into Sand mode, then it does pick up a bit faster, but then thats because you need the extra umph in sand. I was advised by someone in the know though that in sand mode , the car isn't expecting to have to turn corners , on roards, so not recomended for prolonged use ... ..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

Ask to see the vehicle history and ask them that very question, they have to (well should) tell you the truth. If they tell you it wasn't a reject and you subsequently find out it was you could easily drag them through court, ruin their reputation and potentially put them out of business so they're unlikely to lie to you The End
