| Text display problem with GUI interface |

Hello there,
I recently followed the video input instruction from this forum and successfully connected a DVD player to my LR3/DISCO3 nav unit. The DVD plays great, but the GUI interface (i connected an alpine hub

I get ghost-like and tearing next to the characters-- it looks like the
convergence is out of alignment. If i remove the ground portion connection
of the video cable, text gets better but still not up to par--- I connected
the same video out cable to a Pioneer navigation screen and the display is
perfect which means the hub is OK and the monitor is not right.
In navigation mode the monitor works great, but the hub GUI display on all 3
video inputs yield the same problem.
Do you know if they are any other hidden video menus that will allow me to
change color, brightness, and perhaps convergence?

There is no covergence on an LCD, that would only apply to a CRT where you have three "guns" (RGB). It sounds like a termination problem in the system. The level of signal is too high from your hub.

Thanks... yes, i'm aware there are no convergence in an LCD, and was only trying to give you guys an idea of the problem 
I found that the denso VGA LCD contains 800x400 pixels in a 15:9 format.. The pioneer TFT LCD contains 1440x 234 pixels in a 16:9 format.
Could it be cause by the lower resolution of the LCD?
I will test again today with a 10" LCD monitor i purchased for the ceilling...i know the resolution on it is not as high as the pioneer. Quiet!

where are you taking the power from to power the alpine unit in realtion to the screen? D3 JB/B V6 HSE + DVD and NAVtv addon, Steps, Tints, PTI
DVD Modified for front screen display, retro gaming unit added and Road Angel installed. Kahn RSC2-22 wheels

I have the hub on the floor behind the second row of seats... accessory power is from the cigarette lighter outlet in the center console and constant power is from the red wire feeding the amp under the passenger seat. Quiet!

i would suggest moving the switched supply off of the cig supply as its probably not surpressed atall
use the "boot up" supply from the back of the sat nav screen - the ones that comes alive when you unlock the car
i suspect its probably noise, or a sync problem due to something strange in the supply.
its like the video version of the engine whining you can experience when you use the cig ligher to power your ipod in the aux connector D3 JB/B V6 HSE + DVD and NAVtv addon, Steps, Tints, PTI

quietcoolone, do you have a better way to switch your display to your "hub" video other than the test/diag mode? Is it only controllable via remote?

Woodman. I will move the keyed power source from the cig. lighter to the place you suggest. What's puzzling is that my Pioneer screen was powered from the same source and did not show any noise lines in the video and did not show "ghost-like" shadows with the hub text display info. Quiet!

Grommet,
At this time i have no other solution to getting video to the LR3 display other than the test option... and the hub is only controllable via the remote remote control.
Do you know or have an better solution? Quiet!
